My friend Amy is due to have a baby in a month-ish, so I threw her a baby shower this weekend. The best part is another friend brought the food and I supplied the house and decor. That's the only way to do a baby shower! I like to cook, but it's so hard to cook a big bunch of food and keep the house clean while you do it.  I might have to team up with someone for all parties and events from now on.

Let me know if these pictures don't work. I'm experimenting with photo hosts.

This is the set-up before the food arrived (I don't have a great picture of the food,  but it was so tasty and pretty!)

I made tissue pom-poms to hang from the ceiling fan:

Everyone appliqued a flower on a fabric square for me to quilt together. It was cute seeing everyone stitching away on their little square.
I think everyone had a good time, especially Amy!

And, one cute picture of Carlie for the road:

Back in December we surprised Nate with a lunch visit. He usually lets the kids color on his white board. Garrett drew a picture of me in blue marker and Carlie wanted to draw one of me as well with the black marker.

It looks just like me.

At least I don't look anything like Nate:

Recently Carlie asked me to sing the song about how it isn't her birthday yet. There isn't one, so we make up a tune and lyrics as we go. The lyrics are usually something like this:

Me: It's not your birthday yet.

Carlie: It's not my birthday.

Repeat

Me: But it will be soon!

Carlie: Yes, soon.

Me: And we will have cake! And it will be tasty!

Carlie: And it will be messy!

Me: But it's not your birthday yet.

How Carlie tells the only knock-knock joke she knows:

Carlie: Knock Knock!

Me and Carlie together: Who's there?

Carlie: Mr. Spicy Candy who?

Me: Mr. Spicy Candy who?

Carlie:...Candy!

She made it up herself.

I thought I had a funny Garrett story, but I can't remember now that I'm trying to.

PS. This is Candace. The account automatically logs-in as the administrator, which I just realized means that Nathan comes up as the author. If he ever wrote, you would know. In the meantime, it's just me. :)
